Between the snowstorms we have had some wonderful services at Hillside. This past weekend we were blessed to feature the preaching of Dr. Terry Bowland. Terry is a professor at Ozark Christian College and teaches in the field of New Testament studies. His knowledge of the Bible and his ability to present it were a real spiritual blessing to all who were able to hear him. Nathan Shaver and his band provided great worship and a fine youth concert while they were with us.

Dr. Bowland spoke on the biblical imperatives we have to serve the Lord by loving the lost, loving God, and loving each other. Many of us are convinced we are called to salvation and eternity with Christ while being blind to the life of service we are also called to live in His name. It is good to be reminded that Christians are always seeking to serve if they are really following Jesus' example. He demonstrated the attitude of servant hood all the way to the cross.

Following morning services Sunday we all shared a fellowship meal at the church attended by a large crowd. As the snow began to fall everyone calmly finished their meal, cleaned the fellowship hall and departed for home after truly being uplifted. What a joy it is to be a Christian and share this life with others who love the Lord! Even with life's difficulties God is good to us here as we wait for His blessed return to claim His Church.

Our Wednesday evening studies will be on the book of Romans for the next few weeks. The apostle Paul's letter to the Christians in Rome is rich material for growing Christians or those who might be curious about the faith that saves. We are continuing to have a meal for those who would benefit from it at 6:00pm followed by studies for all ages at 7:00pm. Anyone wanting to learn is urged to share the evening with us at Hillside. We know you will be blessed and strengthened.
