It is always a very moving thing to see God's hand at work. We may not notice all the small things He does constantly on our behalf. He works in ways we cannot see or understand. When He brings people or things together as only He is able we then sometimes notice and give Him thanks. He has been working in the life of our church and its families and we praise and thank Him. The past two weeks the Lord has allowed us to baptize a father and then his daughter into Christ. Dad led the way and she eagerly followed, professing her own faith and the desire to obey Christ. Praise the Lord!

With all the graduations and end of the year school activities we are reminded how time passes and things change. Last Sunday at Hillside we studied from Ecclesiastes in the third chapter. Solomon wrote about there being a time for everything, and how God had put the concept of eternity in men's minds. As we all move through time we must be aware of what it is time for in our lives. Jesus warned His early followers to be careful to not restrict spiritual growth because of rigid ideas or traditions. We must not limit God's work in our lives. It may be time for change. We can't live in the past or use today's energy trying to fix things that have already happened. Today has its own challenges and opportunities and God offers His sufficient grace and guidance each morning. These are the times of our lives. We must give them to the One who holds eternity and loves us through every day He gives us.

Last Sunday was a day of large blessings. We were fortunate to be able to participate in the Baccalaureate service at Marshfield High School. Our community is gifted with some fine educators and great students. The quality of the band and choral music was excellent. During the awards ceremony many students were honored with recognition for their achievements. It speaks well of our schools, students, and their parents and guardians when quality events such as this are held and excellence is recognized.

Sunday evening Hillside ordained Chris Wilson into fulltime ministry. The happy event was attended by the church family and several of Chris' relatives. A reception in the fellowship hall was held after the ordination.

This coming Sunday evening we will recognize our graduates with a special service and reception. The graduates will be allowed to display their memorabilia and pictures in the fellowship hall for everyone's enjoyment. We are proud of them all. Keep them in your prayers.
