fter weeks of preparation and planning for the arrival of "Highest Praise" and the use of the Young Auditorium, the big day finally arrived. It was nearly impossible to get every detail worked out in advance but God was in control and not us. The result was a day to remember. Many Hillside folks worked together tirelessly and were blessed for their efforts. Our worship was joyful and uplifting and "Highest Praise" gave a tremendous presentation. We were able to accommodate the large crowd in an excellent facility. All of Marshfield is very fortunate to have such a wonderful building in our community. It turned out to be a great place to worship the Lord. We thank Carmen Braybill of Marshfield Schools for helping facilitate our use of the auditorium and kitchen.
The point of meeting together at all, anywhere, is always to honor and praise God. It is a joy and privilege to do that in a beautiful auditorium, in a home, in a barn, or wherever we are.
David wrote the world's best worship and praise verses outside. It's our hearts turned toward God that really matters. Last Sunday at the Young Auditorium we had our hearts turned toward Him and it was a blessing. What a magnificent God we serve!
We are excited about our time of Vacation Bible School coming up next week. It will start July 6th at 6:15 pm. The evening sessions will run till 8:30 pm. The closing program will be at 6:30 pm on the following Friday. The theme is based on a county fair and features the " Fruits of the Spirit". Children of all ages will have a good time and learn a lot about the God who loves them. Transportation can be arranged by calling the church in advance of the first session at 859-6072.
Our men's breakfast will be Saturday, July 12th at 7:30 am. Men of all ages have found this to be a gathering spot for good food and low-key fellowship. The devotionals are given by different men each month and deal with issues for men, boys and fathers.
Wednesday nights are an important night in our church life. A meal is served at 6:00 pm for a nominal fee, which is waived for first time visitors. Then Bible study for all ages begins at 7:00 pm. Teens have their own worship and study time while adults have been studying the book of Romans. The elementary grades have been working on a biblical musical presentation they will present soon.Fellowship and prayer are major ingredients in the evening and are enjoyed by all. Everyone is invited.
