All we can do is praise God. We were blessed last Sunday with wonderful worship, great crowds, and the opportunity to study and share about Jesus Christ. He is the fulfillment of God's promises in every way. What a comfort it is to be able to turn to God's Word and learn the truth about Jesus in His own words. Our Sunday morning Bible classes and worship service all featured Jesus' nature and mighty deeds. It is pure joy to see that Jesus in all His majesty was also very personal and met people where they were. He was the perfect humble servant and shepherd we need when we are hurting or afraid. He is also the eternal absolute when dealing with sin and the need for a perfect sacrifice. It is vital that we know him in every way as scripture presents him.

For the Jews it was important to know that Jesus was Messiah. Jesus gave them many examples of prophesy he was fulfilling during His ministry. He was keenly aware of their special need and often quoted from their own prophets to show that He was the long awaited Savior of the people. For Gentiles His coming was perfectly timed by God in every way. Paul writes in the book of Romans how Jesus came at exactly the right time. He also notes that Christ died for us while we were His enemies, and made us His friends through His own sacrifice.

It is good to see how perfectly Jesus fit God's promise to Abraham that he would be the father of many nations and that they would be blessed through his descendents. It is good to see how Jesus coming to earth was perfectly timed socially and intellectually. It is amazing to see how this Promised One also dealt with everyday people. The account of Jesus' interactions with those He encountered during His ministry show how compassionate and understanding He was. There are many examples of Christ speaking to the needs of the people who weren't famous or powerful. They simply needed Him, and He responded. Jesus is more than a good answer to our need; He is the perfect answer to all our needs. His agenda involves Him being far more than teacher and Savior. He also describes Himself as being shepherd and friend.

We have learned much since starting on our eight-week study. It all began with God as He presents Himself in Scripture. Now that we have looked at the promised Savior from Scripture, we will study the foundation of the church Jesus promised to build. We will do the background study of the church Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm after our meal at 6:00 pm. If you want to learn where the real church came from, join us and bring your Bible. It tells it all.

Last Sunday night we had a tremendous evening of fun and fellowship provided by our youth and their leaders. They presented a dinner, which was very tasty, and a variety show that was very entertaining. There were skits and songs and dramatic readings that all taught some biblical truth in an imaginative way. The event was a fundraiser for summer youth activities and was very well attended by all.
