his is a big week at Hillside. Lots of children and helpers are busy learning about the "Lord of the Kings". In five different ways, in five different settings, they will learn about the God of the Bible and some of His qualities. These will help them begin to grasp how powerful, loving and majestic He is. We feel this business of understanding the God of the Bible is the beginning of wisdom and that it plants the only logical seeds from which saving faith can grow. Everything goes a lot better if you start right.

The flawed views of the true nature of God have provided the world with many false religions and people involved in them that are prisoners of twisted truth. They try to follow, with good conscience, the path they are shown to their doom and confusion. Satan makes good use of this ignorance because it denigrates God and enslaves millions in ignorance and fear. The love of God shown repeatedly throughout His Word is usually the first victim of the lies. His eternal majesty follows close behind.

Any time mankind tries to invent a suitable god it turns out to be too small, weak, and generally powerless. The only God worth having is the one who knows the stars by name and each of our names as well. To seek another lesser god is merely to follow your imagination or another's to an empty path. We believe it is vital that the information anyone gets about God be completely reliable and understandable. The children who come to Vacation Bible School this week won't be taught whimsical tales or nice fables with a good moral. They will be taught what God's own Book says about Him. It is the only source guaranteed by the Author Himself.

If you have missed the VBS this week, you can still come to the closing program Friday evening at 7:00pm. The children will present some of the things they have learned and enjoyed. Refreshments will follow the program.
